I work in a hospital setting on a Quality Improvement team but only because there's not much money in reading novels for a living. I am usually thinking about some work of fiction, or more productively about a concept from the Bible. My children know this love of literature so our family is well acquainted with the characters that live in our heads. Happily, they don't talk back (the characters I mean).
