I don't know why I love words, but I have this craving to find all the great words out there, just waiting to be discovered, be molded into sentences and uttered! Some words are special to me, so I take some time out of my life to think about them; how lovely it feels to smell their impressively articulated definitions (from online dictionaries usually).
I often annoy people with unusual words, it's not because I intend to lecture them, or even see them develop a greater degree of eloquence. My only purpose in doing this is: to train my own recall of interesting words; to experiment with new dispositions towards words already known; or more importantly to simply practice language. So when the opportunity arises, as I find a fitting context to implant them, my reward is elation.
My name is Alf. My native tongue is Norwegian. But I spend a lot more time practicing English. I'm studying informatics at the university of Trondheim, Norway, but my passion seems to lie everywhere else.
