I'm an English major, but my interest in words came long before college because, when I was growing up, the Webster's Dictionary was at our dinner table to be consulted if we didn't know a meaning. Since graduating from college and subsequently business school, I've written for business publications, worked in health care, government, publishing and financial services and had my own marketing consulting firm that covered a range of subjects--a diverse mosaic of activities, each with its own culture and special words. Taking the first three semesters of a Vet Tech (Nurse) course a couple of year ago introduced me to the wonderfully thought out words in the biosciences, and further fueled my enthusiasm for knowing more about words.
