It demonstrates good manners and appreciation. People have gotten away from acknowledging the good things others do and have become somewhat selfish. That is why I love the word thanks! It shows respect!

I think this word indicates a severe disdain for all that is good. It is ok to use in certain venues but not in most situations. The word hate should be carefully designed for use to eliminate the negative connotations. I would use it in a sentene such as, "I hate the extremely hot weather.
