I am a former history teacher; my husband is a published author;
I went to school with the novelist John Grisham, and I'm a fourth cousin to William Faulkner. I live about 55 miles from Oxford, MS.
As you can see, I am surrounded by the influence of writers, so I decided to try my hand.
I am in my early fifties and have an adult son and daughter. My favorite hobby is gardening. I also enjoy serving as a docent at local antebellum homes. I have led "ghost tours" through local historic cemeteries.
As Faulkner said, [especially in this area] the past isn't dead . . . it isn't even past.
So, I tend my garden, wallow in local history, and now shall attempt to scribble.

profanityWhat I really mean to say and this thing wouldn't take it was the "F" word. Mild profanity doesn't bother me. I'm certainly no Puritan. But the F word is over-used. Trashy people use it, and think they are cute.
It takes no special talent to use filthy gutter language.
