Retired government drivers license examiner. I've worked in the Peace Corps, and lived in the Pacific Islands and India many, many years ago. I like to write (compulsive scribbler), read (impulsively), trade stock futures (with extreme caution) and support charities that feed the world's hungry children (with almost every spare dollar I earn). I'm a Christian so liberal his views are often mistaken for Hinduism ("Dear God, I'm trying to understand You!). I love spiritual pursuits, romantic movies, and comedy. I have a wife and 4 cats.

serendipity
Serendipity is the reward of a life lived open to all possibilities, a life lived free of prejudgment. Quoting Wikipedia, it's a "fortunate discovery made while looking for something entirely different". Is not this a gift from God? Wikipedia also provides a wonderful list of serendipitous discovers; LSD, penicillin, and silly putty are just a few. Also noted there is the fact that "serendipity" was voted one of the ten hardest English words to translate. What more could you want it a word?
