Fred Mindlin has a passion for digital storytelling. Fred taught 3rd and 4th grade for a dozen years, first as a bilingual/multicultural specialist and then as one of the original teachers with Alianza Charter School's two-way immersion program. He spent the last seven years of his public school teaching career as a self-funded technology integration trainer and administrator. He now serves as Associate Director for Technology Integration with the Central California Writing Project (CCWP), part of the Education Department at UCSC, and consults with schools, individuals, and non-profit organizations on digital storytelling, teaching authentic writing about social justice and personal memoir. He is also a web designer and arts education activist, and serves on the advisory board of the Pajaro Valley Arts Council (PVAC) and as the CCWP's representative to the Santa Cruz Cultural Council’s Associates.
