I am a full blood Potawatomi Native American who works as a Language Consultant for one of the largest bands of Potawatomi people in the United States. There are 8 bands of Potawatomi scattered throughout the United States and Canada. Potawatomi is a dying language, with only 14 speakers left among approximately 36,000 people. I love what I do and the thought of utilizing Visual Thesaurus as a tool in language of any sort excites me. Perhaps the day will come when something like this could be designed for use with Native languages. I am one of those 14 speakers left and sometimes it does get lonely thinking of that.
