At the age of 76 I'm writing my first novel. It's set in 1869-70 and is much harder to do than I expected 8>) but I'm enjoying every minute of it.

It's actually Jewish (Yiddish) but seems to have made its way into the English language. It means crazy, mixed up. I like it because it sounds exactly like what it means

stupid
It is a very demeaning word, and usually means anyone who doesn't agree with you.
