i just started a Memoir Writing course which is what prompted me to sign up at this website. The folks in the writing group meet at an assisted living center. While there are no residents taking the class the average age is around 65. I can't wait to hear their stories.

What I am now having after this site would not allow my real favorite word, "petrichor", as it "was not found in the dictionary"! Petrichor is indeed a word! It is defined as "the pleasant smell that often accompanies the first rain after a long period of warm, dry weather in certain regions." I love this word because I love the rare & rich smell it describes. I also love that it comes from "ichor", the Greek word for the fluid that flows like blood in the veins of the gods.
