About Me
Teacher best describes who I am. At Kumon Leysin Academy of Switzerland (KLAS), where I have been a teacher of world history for the past 15 year, I teach Japanese high school students. It is a challenging profession and carries a lot of responsibility. However, when students begin to succeed at applying the history lessons to their daily lives, all the challenging lessons become worthwhile.

Favorite Word:

lugubrious
This word gives a clear sense of a person's feelings when something really bad happens in life. In my opinion, I think a breakup between two lovers best typifies the use of the word. They feel deep pain and sorrow, but they encourage the pain to linger as a way to possibly hope for a reunion with their lover

Least Favorite Word:

traitor
A person who betrays a trust. Life is built on trust and when trust is broken, it takes a lot of time and effort to renew the bond of trust that once existed. This word actually happens often throughout life. It carries a lot of pain, because a traitor is the most despicable kind of human as they have very little regard for the one whom they have betrayed. The relationship was a sham.
