I am an editor with MS and a very supportive employer. I have a strong interest in great writing, vocabulary and syntax and, as well, an appreciation for visual learning aides.
My real LFW is 'This,' but it was rejected: 'The word you specified was not found in the dictionary.' The reason I was going to give is this: 'This word is ubiquitous but for the wrong reasons.'
So I picked 'thistle' for no no other reason than in my dictionary, it appears 3 entries below 'this' -- it follows 'this and that' and 'Thisbe'; it informs us that its role is to be demonstrative pronoun; and it gets 17 lines of definition and etymology. Long live the Canadian Oxford Dictionary, I say!
