If you are having trouble opening the Visual Thesaurus, and you are using Windows, you may not have the Java Plugin installed. The Java Plugin is software that allows your computer to view Java applets, the technology that the Visual Thesaurus is based on.

How do I know if I need the Java Plugin?
In the space below, you should see a pink box that displays the version of Java you are running. If you do not have Java, or there is a problem with your Java Installation, you will see a grey or white box.

If you do not see a pink box above, you can install the Java Virtual Machine from Sun Microsystems (which includes the Java Plugin). Click here to install the Java Plugin, or visit http://www.java.com/ to learn more about the Java Plugin. Click on "Get it Now!" when you are ready to install.
