We've added a new feature to Vocabulary.com Dictionary — the ability to see your progress on words you're learning in the Challenge. Watch this video or read on to learn more.
Ever finish a question on a Challenge word and wonder how close you are to mastering it? Now, you can find that information immediately, without leaving the game. Just select that word to display its Vocabulary.com Dictionary page, which now includes a color-coded bar chart tracking questions you've answered on that word.
Roll over the bars on the chart to see the exact number of questions you've answered on that word, the date you answered them, and the number you answered correctly. As long as you are logged in, this information will display on the Dictionary definition page for every word you're learning or have mastered in the Challenge.
We've also taken this opportunity to streamline the My Progress page, to provide clearer feedback about your activity in the Challenge. You'll still find information about your accumulated points, mastered words, questions, and achievements, but now, this information also will be displayed in bar charts organized by day. Roll over the bars to reveal details: date of play, total for that day, and cumulative total as of that date.
Below these charts, you'll find an overview of levels and achievements and a list of the words you're either working on or have mastered. The functionality of the Achievements page remains the same — you'll still be able to see what you've earned, what's ahead, and how you stack up against top earners. What's new is that all of this information is organized in a tab so you can get back to it easily after you've moved away.
The Words tab also functions in much the same way it did before. You can look at just the words you're learning, or just the words you've mastered, and you can use the drop-down menu to sort lists forwards and backwards alphabetically, by knowledge, by date started, by progress, or by last played. But now, when you click on any word in the list to see your progress on it, you'll call up its Dictionary page, and information about your progress embedded there. You can quickly page from one word's page to the next for a snapshot of where you're having trouble and where you're doing well, which allows you to focus more efficiently as you review your words, and increase your success in your Challenge play.
It also makes our Dictionary not just an excellent learning resource, but, like the Challenge, a resource that is personal to you and your learning. Have fun checking it out!
