About Me
A lazy writer enslaved to the dreaded Procrastinatron, but enjoying the world of information especially as available freely online. I don't understand people who think that learning stops once you leave school; I was homeschooled and then had high grades through six years of college (which I thoroughly enjoyed) and now I'm delving into areas like the periodic table, popular music, geography, bartending, and the different species of trees, all self-taught.

I already have a pretty high vocabulary in English (and I've studied over two dozen other languages, though none to fluency), but I figured it'd be useful to see what a service like this could do for me. The study of Rhetoric (the use of the best words to convey your meaning and put the appropriate force into your writing) has led me to understand that it's good to be very clear about the nature of the words I choose to use.

It sounds pleasant to my ear, which matches the meaning of the word. It is crisp and the overall shape of the written version is also pleasing to the eye.

Least Favorite Word:

I strongly dislike sPs combos, especially at the end of words: grasps, nests, tasks. They are difficult to enunciate and sound raspy. Esperanto puts sts at the start of words (scias, where c=ts), and I hate that a language with such lofty aims make such a tremendous blunder in choosing a combo so horribly difficult to say and so offensive to the ear and then sticking it on some of the most common words.
