Hello! Currently, I am an ESL teacher in southern Italy (or at least I pretend to be!). I am Canadian-Italian, and I always maintain that English is my first language, even though I grew up in an Italian-speaking family. Why? Well, simply because English is the language I started to read and write first! Imprinting, you might say. I have always loved reading - anything from the book lists assigned in school to the labels on products! And I learned to love writing... Reading I feel confident in, writing is an ongoing learning process! I try to instil in my students the same love for a language that I feel for both my "native" languages and I like to think that in some cases I have succeeded. Quite stubborn, I find it hard to accept a "no" for an answer, even from myself, and the words "can not" (and all related ones) just don't fit in with my philosophy of life.
