About Me
I'm a mid-50s professional working in magazine publishing as a managing editor. I love words, and learning about them, with a passion. The greatest joy in my career has come from pure copy editing: honing and crafting the written word so that mistakes in spelling and grammar are eliminated and levels of diction and syntax are increased.
I love to read all kinds of things...from Stephen King to Taylor Caldwell to EE Cummings. I love movies of all kinds. I love my dog Beau, a 7-year-old black Lab who is my companion. If I could play with words all day, I'd be a very happy person.

Favorite Word:

Because it's so unexpected. Its definition is something I don't think many people would ever guess, or intuit, just by seeing the word...and maybe even not by seeing it used in a sentence. And I like its meaning: too great or extreme to be described in words. How cool....

Because I am...and because it brings me much shame. Also, because the word has such a horrible connotation, and just hearing it makes me cringe and feel guilty.
