About Me
I am a collaborative attorney and mediator, preferring to settle conflicts by negotiation rather than litigation. I teach mediation at a local law school.

I came late to the legal profession. Before law, I was a children's books editor, an early childhood educator--teaching babies, parents and teachers--and an active community volunteer. I held a minor political office and worked to promote causes and research public-interest issues. During law school I was managing editor of the law review.

Writing, editing and researching are the threads that have run through my professional life.

I love to travel, read, kayak, sail. I enjoy my family and friends, book club and my work.

Life gets more exciting as it goes along--I feel blessed to have so much life behind me and so much more to look forward to.

"Office" as a verb. I very much dislike the trend toward using a noun as a verb. "To office" is the usage that irritates me the most. Since the Olympics, "to podium" joins the ranks.
