Words collected over the years that meet one or more of the following criteria: (1) words that we have read or heard, but may not be able to clearly define if called upon, (2) words that are extremely descriptive of a specific, abstract concept, (3) words that some people occasionally define or pronounce incorrectly (often opposite of the true meaning), and (4) words that simply sound pleasant or have a crisp, descriptive tone.

Fun list. I suppose it shows what a word nerd I am that I recognized, and could come up with a reasonably close definition, for all but two of the words.

Yes!

Sublime- I thought meant a tiny amount.

plus:

Droll- I thought meant "not funny"

Dearth- I thought meant a great quantity of something.

This is really an impressive word listing. I especially like the pronouncement feature of your web page. When I hear the word pronounced, it gives me a sense of confidence that even I can add it to my every day vocabulary.

Words really do empower us.
